Convenience stores

Convenience stores, as small retailers, are less regulated than supermarkets & excluded from carrier bag charges.

They still contribute to our plastics problem though.

In numbers

  • There are over 45,000 convenience stores in the UK.
  • The market is worth a £41.7bn*, and the average consumer visits a convenience store nearly 4 times every week.
  • Only about 5% of the total grocery market are not supermarket brands.
